Lower Cretaceous

The top of the lower Cretaceous finally sees the end of a group, which developed from Triassic to Jurassic in Western Europe, despite a significant period of regression (Toarcian-Aalenian). This is the Zeilleriidae. Their decline was alas already announced as of the upper Jurassic, because the number of species and individuals gradually fell.
