Classified by some authors into the family of Haploceratidae, the species Lissoceras seems to belong from now on to a full family. These ammonites of small size, smooth, relatively involute and without keel, are better known from the Bajocian beds. Representatives of this family were discovered as well in Europe, as in Africa and Asia.
